Cool Your Home Naturally

Space cooling and heating can account for up to 45% of your total home energy use every year, but there are numerous strategies you can employ to reduce cooling costs. Below are some cost-effective ways to cool your home:

  • Eenergy efficient bulbs
    • Switch to energy efficient bulbs. Regular light bulbs are not energy efficient and radiate a lot of excess heat.

  • Doors and windows
    • Close your doors, blinds, or curtains when the temperatures during daytime increase and open windows at night-time to let the cool air in when the temperatures drop.

  • Indoor plants
    • Leafy plants can create a good ambience and help with temperature regulation. If you have some large decorative or potted plants around, move them closer to your windows. They will absorb most of the heat and create a cooling effect around them.
