BACK PAIN II MANUAL HANDLING AND ERGONOMICS

Pwede itong mangyari suddenly or over a prolonged period of time.

Mayroong tinatawag na good or proper body mechanics na napakadaling gawin:

  • Stand with your feet apart to create a firm foundation
  • Bend at your knees instead of your waist
  • Use your arm and leg muscles to lift object, rather than using your back
  • Keep your neck, back, hips, and feet aligned when you move
  • Avoid twisting and bending at the waist
  • The spine should be in neutral position
  •  Sit properly with your buttocks at the back of the seat
  • Bend your knees at 90-degree angle with your feet flat on the floor; leave a small space at the backs of your knees
  • Lift your chin, relax your jaw and mouth
  • Hold objects close to your body at waist level when you carry something heavy

Medications commonly used : Mefenamic acid, Naproxen , Ibuprofen, Ketoprofen, Tramadol, Ketorolac, Diclofenac

Independent intervention to help relieve back pain due to strain:

  • regular hot packs for 15-20 minutes at intervals
  • use of medical bed to cushion your back

Tandaan na meron ding tinatawag na neurological disorder of back pain.
